If you ever heard me chat about my past dating relationships when I was on the Kane Show in DC you probably remember me talking about my attraction to dating older men. Its true…I spent five years in a relationship with a man who was 14 years older than I was, a 4 month relationship with someone 18 yrs older, and several dates with men older ages in between.
Needless to say after some therapy and asking myself a lot of questions, I think a lot of my attraction to older men came from the fact that I lost my father when I was 15…I think I was attracted to the security an older man gives you and the level of confidence and caring they appear to have. I’ve been lucky that every older man I’ve dated has been a really great person and taught me a lot about life, myself, work, etc, but they’ve also taught me a lot about what I don’t want. What I discovered about older men is eventually they don’t find my hobbies fun, they’ve already had a family, and they’re usually not looking for a life of adventure, so when I read Petronella Wyatt’s Daily Mail article on ‘Why you always regret falling for an older man I could TOTALLY relate and had to share.
If you’re like me and have a pension for falling for a silver fox you’ll love this article. Definitely go on the date with the George Clooney look a like just buyer beware;) And…PSdotcom – I hate saying ‘I’ll NEVER date so and so again’ so don’t hold me to it but I think this article is pretty spot on about the older man!
