Wow, three years.
THREE FREAKING YEARS! I can’t even believe it.
I am so over the moon about how amazing these past few years of podcasting have been. For those of you who were not able to make it to the live show this past Thursday, no need to worry because we are here to re-cap it all from start to finish.
To get the party started, lets talk the VIP portion of the night. All of our lovely VIP guests had the chance to be first in line to grab a cocktail, mingle with the Hey Frase crew, and get their hands on some lite bites by Elegancia Catering! Huge shout out to their crew for all the awesome food, from the mini tomato mozzarella kabobs and chicken strips with cranberry dipping sauce to the donut holes and shrimp cocktail. Everything was delicious! Every table was also decorated with a rose arrangement by the beautiful and local DC florists, La Bloom! To die for, loved them.
Once everyone had rolled in, thats when all the photos started snapping. And trust me, we had our Hey Frase back drop and ring light ready to go! I seriously had such a blast taking photos with you all and getting to talk to you all individually! Looking back at all my candid moments of meeting each and every one of you lovely people makes me so happy. And on top of that everyone looked fabulous!
Okay, now lets talk the show itself. The show was such a hit, I think even Dan sitting all the way up in the last row with his head down secretly enjoyed it! As the crew and I prepped back stage and formulated how many different ways we wanted to embarrass Paul, comedian Rob Maher took the stage to open the show! And damn, that guy really knows how to get the ball rolling with the audience. Rob cracked some jokes, embarrassed a few people in the front row, and then it was officially time to start.
First out on stage, me! Obviously. I was then accompanied by my fellow Hey Frase dolls one by one starting with the one, the only, Paul Wharton. Don’t worry, Paul 2.0 made an appearance too when my right hand girl AJ took the stage. If you haven’t already noticed, AJ is quite possibly the BEST at impressions, but nothing beats her impersonation of Paul. We’re not complaining though because hey, when the real Paul isn’t around “Somebody’s gotta keep the lights on in Motha F#%kaaa”. AJ had Paul shaking in his boots when she reenacted his epic exit of his house keeper of 2 years. Hey there Prescila, miss you girl.
I also thought the live show was the perfect time to tap into my possible future as a polygraph reader! So why not hook Paul and Paul 2.0 up to a lie detector and uncover some true hidden feelings? After some uncertain readings and not actually knowing what the hell I was doing, we came to the conclusion that unfortunately, Renzo has a small penis…sorry Paul.
Next on stage was Ms Dani Starr! She brought it all for this live show baby. Chatting all about her and her man Jeff wanting to expand their little family, heading into season 2 of her podcast “Empathy and Eyebrows”, and even some sex toy suggestions! What can we say, that’s our Dani. And according to our screaming fans in the audience, Dani isn’t the only one who enjoys the magic wand! Never a dull moment with you doll.
Of course we closed out the night with none other than the cake! Ugh, that cake…that beautiful black and pink iced over, 3 tier cake by M&T Events. I mean it truly was like me, but in cake form. Not only did they nail the design with all those pink lips and champagne bottles, but it tasted SO GOOD. M&T, you’re the best! We had the pleasure of teaming ups with explodeddesigns.com who provided us with the best goody bags for our fans! Who doesn’t want a tote with the words chains and handcuffs on it? Not to mention the goodies inside — we hooked our fans UP with all sorts of fun things like eco-friendly themed mugs, hot cocoa, tea, coupons for La Bloom, Pure Romance, Ivy Wild Skincare and makeup, and some sugar-fina samples!
Really couldn’t have imagined a better way to celebrate three glorious years of Hey Frase. Time really does fly when you’re having fun and that night was SO FUN. I love you all so much, your support, love, and pineapple mail never go unnoticed! Cheers to many, many more years of podcasting together.
