Park Potomac Happy Hour: Hold Onto Your Mule Mugs Cause This HH is Bananas!
Treat yourself to a full day of fun adventures In Park Potomac’s diverse oasis of shops, restaurants, and offices. Located right outside of Washington, DC off of Route I-270, Park Potomac offers just the right amount of the city hustle and bustle with a casual relaxing vibe that AJ and I both love. It’s a perfect destination for your girls’ night out or office Happy Hour celebration. Park Potomac’s variety of restaurants, free White Flint shuttle and easy to access location make it the perfect place for young professionals (such as yourselves) to gather. It’s truly a one-stop-shop from their retail stores like luxury fitness apparel ‘Gym&Tonic,’ to their fitness centers ‘OrangeTheory; and ‘Park Potomac Yoga,’ to their wide selection of food options! And if you’re hungry, you’ve come to the right place. Between Sugo, Addie’s, Elevation Burger, Founding Farmer’s, and Gringos and Mariachis it’s impossible to leave unsatisfied. However, for now, we are just focused on our Park Potomac Happy Hour culinary adventure; HAPPY HOUR to be specific. AJ and I had the best afternoon bar hopping all over Park Potomac and we want to give you the scoop! Bon Appétit!
Stop #1: Sugo’s
Sugo’s restaurant offers an eclectic mix of Italian cuisine. Stop in for brunch or happy hour and leave full and happy. We left Sugo’s completely stuffed because we simply could not say no to their extensive happy hour menu selection. Happy hour runs Monday through Friday 4-7PM with deals including $5 wine and beer and small plates all under $10. Sautéed mussels, fried calamari, seafood flatbread, and slider sandwiches are just a few delicious items on the Happy Hour menu. Their dinner menu is unparalleled with options including, but not limited to Spinach Ricotta Ravioli, Hanger steak and onion and truffle pizza. AJ is a huge Moscow Mule drinker and she was so excited to hear the ginger beer is all made in-house! I enjoyed a mango martini and a refreshing margarita. You all know I love a good marg. Stop # 2: Founding Farmers
Not only is the interior of Founding Farmers a work of art, but their expert staff is impressive as well. We sat right at the bar and enjoyed instagram worthy drinks and some light bites. We watched as the drinks were being shaken, stirred and garnished and joked that they were almost too pretty to drink. I enjoyed a ‘Clementine Cooler’ made from Vodka, infused with clementine, maraschino liqueur, lime, mint, honey, and clementine bitter. AJ slurped down the Park Potomac sizzler made from vodka, clement marina coco, lime mix, passion fruit and bitters. We also munched on yummy Brie Farm Bread and Ahi Tuna bites. Aside from the small bites, FF also serves handmade pasta, seafood dishes, and meatless plates as well. And don’t forget, they compost all their food so absolutely nothing goers to waste! Their full food and drink menu can be found on their site here.
Stop #3: Addie’s
Looking for a chic inside bar or a picturesque Parisian outdoor area? Addie’s offers both! AJ and I sat outside to enjoy some refreshing Prosecco and enjoy the views of Park Potomac. Addie’s menu is just as diverse as the two previous spots with delectable options. We highly recommend the cornmeal fried bay oysters, the charred Spanish octopus, and the prosciutto wrapped mozzarella! Can you say yum!!? The light glass of Prosecco was exactly what I needed to reset my pallet and cool off. AJ sipped on a spicy pear margarita and the added spice was perfect. Don’t forget about the Oysters on the half shell for just 2$ and Happy Hour 2 FOR 1. Make sure to hit their website for the full menu.
Stop #4: Gringos and Mariachis
By stop number 4, AJ and I basically rolled our way to the last stop, Gringos and Mariachis. Happy hour was in full swing and the weather was so beautiful, we had to grab a seat in the packed outdoor area. We ended our night with some chips and salsa. Of course we shared a margarita flight pictured below. Choose between jalapeño cucumber, wild strawberry, apple cinnamon, smokey, lychee, and ginger hibiscus. They are all winners so we suggest trying all of them. After munching on some chips and salsa, offered on the house, AJ and I didn’t waste any time ordering some more bites. The shrimp ceviche and chorizo stuffed dates are a must! Check out their full menu on the website to get more details about brunch and happy hour.
