South Block’s Roots
Southblock, an Arlington born and bred local juice bar, first opened in 2011 in a 700 square foot space in Clarendon on a mission to “Build Healthier Communities…One Block at a Time!” Fun Fact: Ballston is where Mostafavi lived when the first seed of South Block was planted. He’s am honored to go back to his roots and be a part of the flourishing neighborhood in Ballston, more than 10 years later.
South Block Juices are cold-pressed daily in small batches at the “micro-juicery” in Arlington, VA, using locally sourced ingredients whenever possible. The juices are raw and unpasteurized, meaning they are alive and full of healthy enzymes and nutrients with no added water or sugar.
South Block Loves Washington Capitals
The Ballston location is near the MedStar Capitals Iceplex and features an autographed Nicklas Backstrom jersey and a Washington Capitals tribute mural by local artist Mas Paz. “South Block has become a regular hangout spot for many of the Capitals, we love seeing them…the guys are so down-to-earth, so we wanted to show the team some love and support!” – Amir Mostafavi, South Block’s Founder and CEO.
